Elaine Dunn
I am a licensed clinical social worker with 15 years of professional practice working with kids, teens and adults. My approach to therapy is to help you to be seen and heard in a safe space, while collaborating to see your strengths and build connections that will serve you well throughout your journey. I have experience assisting with folks from diverse walks of life in midst of grief, loss and life transitions, managing mood disorders (like depression and bipolar disorder), moving through post-traumatic stress, anxiety disorders or acute stress and struggling with addiction. In addition to experience working with folks on their individual healing journey, I have extensive experience leading therapeutic groups and find group work to be incredibly rewarding and connective.
I utilize an eclectic mix of modalities to find the right fit for each person, and my experience includes the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (including mindfulness), solution-focused concepts, and I love to bring in creative ways to process and integrate experiences. I strive to meet you where you are.
In my free time, I love running and hiking local Austin trails, listening to audio books, experimenting with new baking recipes, traveling and playing outdoors with my family.
