Mark Killian
Hi, there! I’m Mark, and my goal is to help you gain a better understanding of the circumstances that led you to counseling so you can navigate your life with more self-awareness, compassion, and confidence.
I do this by combining existential philosophy with empirically proven interventions (DBT, ACT, CBT, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, etc) to meet clients where they are and accompany them on their healing journeys. I consider myself a trusty sidekick — helping clients reach their desired destination by collaboratively identifying obstacles, brainstorming solutions, and putting plans into motion. I strive to create an engaging environment where clients from all walks of life feel safe experiencing and expressing a vast array of emotions.
My areas of interest include grief, loss, trauma, life transitions, personal narratives, interpersonal conflict resolution, estrangement, anxiety, and depression in adults, adolescents, couples, and groups.
Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, reading, writing, running, and pondering the meaning of life.
